The Story Behind the Painting: When designing this netball dress, I wanted to capture the essence of our desert home—the vibrant heart of the Northern Territory. I drew inspiration from the rich reds of the earth, the deep oranges of the sunset, and the warm sandy browns beneath our feet. These colours are more than just shades on a palette; they represent the land that is played on, the place that grounds us, and the breathtaking beauty that surrounds us.
The majestic MacDonnell Ranges shaped my vision, influencing the patterns that weave through the design. Their rugged cliffs and the unique flora of our region became symbols of resilience, strength, and unity—values that define both our community and our team. Every curve and line tells a story, echoing the bonds shared between teammates who stand together, support each other, and rise as one.
To reflect the passion and energy of NT Link players, I incorporated dynamic waves that symbolise movement, determination, and the unstoppable drive brought to the court. NT Link is more than just a team; it is a family—a powerful force that embodies the heart and spirit of Alice Springs.
Though I’ve moved on from Alice Springs, this design holds my deep connection to the community and Country that helped shape who I am. Seeing it worn on the court is not just an honour—it’s a reminder of how creativity, culture, and connection can come together in powerful ways.
