This piece was once intended for another path, but became something more along the way—a symbol of reclaiming, of holding your head high, and of continuing to soar even when things don’t go the way you imagined.

I painted this eagle with bold wings and sharp eyes, not just for what it is, but for what it represents: courage, freedom, and strength in the face of change. The patterns within its feathers speak of movement, connection, and the stories we carry with us. The mountains behind it are grounded and strong, yet the eagle rises beyond them—untethered, watchful, and wild.

Sometimes, the most meaningful pieces are the ones that teach you something as you paint them. Rise Above became a reminder to keep going, to stay true to your purpose, and to honour your voice—even when the outcome looks different than expected.
