The Story Behind the Painting: Alice Springs has always been a special place to me—its landscapes, its people, and the stories woven through both. When I was given the chance to create a painting for Totally Tidy, an Aboriginal-owned business dedicated to keeping this land beautiful, I wanted my artwork to reflect the heart of what they do.
I imagined the Outback at its most breathtaking—a golden sunset casting its light over the ranges, the colours deep and warm, just like the community Totally Tidy serves. In the foreground, I painted desert peas and native wildflowers—symbols of resilience, growth, and the care this business brings to every property.
At the centre of the piece, I used dot patterns to show connection—the way the people of Alice Springs are linked to each other, to the land, and to the work that keeps it thriving. The circular designs represent changing seasons and the sustainable practices that Totally Tidy follows to protect the environment.
Totally Tidy was established in 2020 with a clear focus: to provide high-quality garden and property maintenance for residents of Alice Springs and surrounding areas. Their commitment to caring for both the land and the community is what inspired this painting.
This piece is not just about the landscape—it’s about the people who dedicate themselves to preserving it. It’s my way of celebrating Totally Tidy’s mission and the impact they have on keeping our home beautiful, one property at a time.
This painting was commissioned by Totally Tidy as a celebration of their work in caring for Country and community. Through layers of desert flowers, glowing earth, and connection across land and sky, Keira honours the beauty that comes from nurturing what grows.
