The Story Behind the Painting This painting was inspired by a day I’ll never forget—a family trip to Bondi Beach during our holiday in Sydney. The sun was warm, the sand soft beneath our feet, and the waves moved in and out with a rhythm that felt both calm and alive. The sea seemed to speak in its own language, and I wanted to remember how it felt to be there—present, joyful, and together.
As we walked along the shore, the beach was scattered with jellyfish, their shapes catching the sunlight like little pieces of the ocean left behind. My little sister Millie, always so curious and brave, bent down to touch one, not knowing how dangerous it could be. Mum stepped in just in time—quick, calm, and steady—turning what could have been a scary moment into a quiet reminder of how love looks out for us, even when we don’t see the risk.
That moment stayed with me. It was more than just a warning from the sea—it was a memory of the way we care for each other, how we learn through experience, and how curiosity and love often travel hand in hand.
This painting holds the motion of the waves, the softness of our time together, and the quiet lessons tucked inside ordinary moments. Each dot and line reflects that day—the laughter, the exploring, the closeness, and the small pause that reminded us how quickly things can change, and how lucky we were to have each other.
"Curious Hearts and Ocean Warnings" is my way of remembering all of it. The beauty. The lesson. The love.
